Workshops

We are still developing this year's slate of workshops. Check back in late summer or early fall for more information.

The menu of workshops in past years have included workshops on improving instrumental skills (guitar & other), percussion, choral, voice & singing, performance, accompaniment, songwriting (melodic & lyric), morning yoga, Chamberfilk, and jamming. (see below for more details).

Workshops confirmed for OVFF 27

Chamberfilk

Phil Textor arranges popular filk songs as chamber music, and is seeking more people to play them at OVFF. If you would like to be a part of this ensemble, contact Phil before the convention at: textorpmt at yahoo dot com. Participants should plan to meet with Phil during the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, rehearse several times during the weekend, and then perform a short concert on Sunday early afternoon.

Harp Workshop

10 pm Friday after the Pegasus Nominees Concert -taught by Jennifer Midkiff

Morning Yoga

10:30 am Saturday Limber up and relax before a long day of dodging puns, reaching for high notes, and other strenuous activity. Taught by Dr. Mary Crowell.

How to Relax During Performing

Noon Saturday taught by Sally Childs-Helton

Parody Writing

1 pm Saturday taught by our Guests of Honor Jeff & Maya Bohnhoff

Blues Workshop

2 pm Saturday. An introduction to playing 12-bar blues. How to provide accompaniment and solo in this classic American style. Guitar-focused, but not guitar-exclusive. Taught by Daniel Gunderson
