Moons that orbit round Mars

Blue and white earth is gone now
A remnant pinpoint of light
Travelling through time and space
Our anchor drifting from sight

Black of space goes on forever
We venture in search of a place
Visions of our home planet
Seen through the eyes of Mars’ face.

Mariner and Viking showed us
The Martian mountains and plains
Planned our steps to the future
Released us from all those chains
