She was a dog of that special kind
That seems to have a human mind
She did her job, she played her part
She had a more than human heart
CHORUS:
Just Sweet Sixteen and never flown
She knows Renee can't be alone
She'll hold on tight until the end
A special dog and a special friend
She went to cons from the age of two
She was a con dog through and through
She saw each fan as a long lost friend
You could count on her to come back again
CHORUS:
Just Sweet Sixteen and never flown
She started young, look how she's grown
Can she make it through another year?
I can't believe that she's not here!
In her last year, arthritis struck
It was hard to walk, hard to get up
But still she tried to do her part
With a human mind, a more than human heart
CHORUS:
Just Sweet Sixteen and never flown
And she won't leave Renee alone
She's holding on with every breath
She fears departure more than death
We stayed with her, we saw her die
We held her tight, and said "Goodbye"
And when she left, we saw her leap with joy
She found new wings, time can't destroy
CHORUS:
Just Sweet Sixteen and never flown
Most faithful dog, I've ever known
If when they die, good dogs get wings,
She's flying now, where the angels sing
Y'know, when they die, good dogs get wings
And she's flying now, where the angels sing.
