Pegasus Nominations

Year Category Sample
2026 Best Writer/Composer mp3

Sheegui has been a filker for most of her life because she always loved to create art based on stories, myths and fairy tales. She originally joined the German Filk community in 2002 but life took some detours and she got lost until she was invited to be GOH at DFDF 2024. Since then she and her music have found their true home. Her DFDF live-album Heimweg im Nordlicht was published in 2025.

In the past Sheegui performed under the name "Fiacha" until a friend who happens to be an Irish storyteller compared her voice to the Sidhe Gaoithe, the faerie winds calling sailors to their doom. Since nobody (except Ju) knew how to spell or pronounce them, "Sheegui" was the name that stuck.

Her songs are in German or English and cover a variety of topics including classic fantasy- Filksongs, very personal pagan songs, and songs about society and mental health. For her album about Lynn Flewellings Tamir-triad, Daughters Of The Four, the author declared her "Official Bard Of Skala" , a title she wears with pride.

In real life Sheegui is a 49 year old Social Worker named Sylvia and lives in a village near Regensburg/Germany with her husband and her cat.

She is very excited about being nominated amongst the amazing bards, minstrels and storytellers she met over the years.

The song she chose for her representation at the Pegasus Awards is her most recent piece, "Moonsong". It is filk about the Irish fairy-tale "The Girl Who Danced With The Fairies" , which was premiered at DFDF 2026 with amazing support by fae-piper Daniela Festi (Sagensang) and fae-bard Steve Macdonald.

Filk about the Irish fairy tale "The Girl Who Danced With The Fairies".
Feel free to choose the pronouns of the piper as you see fit for your own seduction. ;) )

Last night
I've been hearing the song again
It came into my sleep
And it moved me
Caressed me so tenderly
In places forgotten and deep

The piper speaks to me of longing
Without needing any words
And she/he woke something up
That had been lost for so long
It was hidden, now it hurts.

And oh, I want her/him to continue
and I'm barely holding on
to myself just as long
as the song doesn't end
and once it does,
I will be gone.

Today
when the sun woke me cruelly
and tore the dream apart
I kept my eyes shut
I can't bear to look at my life
with moonlight in my heart

The piper keeps on playing
I do not need my ears to hear
the tune feels familiar
like the sound of a voice long lost
of someone I held dear

And oh, I want her/him to continue
the sweet enchanting serenade
and I will surrender
each day I have yet to live
for the moonsong he has made

And oh, I want you to continue
I can see you now, I'm almost there
and in the morning
they will find my pale body outside
with foxgloves in my hair.
