Arlene Hills (a.k.a. Callie, Clarisse, and a few other aliases she declines to acknowledge) settled in Oregon in 1985, and promptly began making music with anyone who didn't prudently flee. Her interests include vocal music, vintage houses (particularly ones built 1895-1925, the one she co-owns with the bank was built in 1910), instrumental music, fiber arts (inkle weaving, knitting, crochet), musical ensembles, travel, musical jam sessions, conventions, and improvisational music. She claims that her motto is "have flutes, will travel", and has appeared both as half of the duo Echo's Children, and as a featured performer on other musicians' projects.

Having crossed the continental United States several times on music-related jaunts, Callie hopes someday to take part in an international choir tour or other musical event. She is currently keeping her singing voice exercised via private voice lessons and participation in local choral ensembles.
